Title: Lord Of The Flies
Chapter: #3
Chapter Title: Huts on the Beach
Character Perspective: Simon
Secret Place
I never knew how hard it was to make huts. In the past four days Ralph and I have made only two huts, and they aren’t even stable. Where in the world is everyone supposed to sleep? Oh well, jack isn’t much help either. All he does all day is hunt. He doesn’t even catch anything. So all we it is fruit and drink water. I am so sick of this! There are so many vicissitudes when living on an uninhabited island. Suddenly jack came onto view and of course he had no food with him. Ralph and him got into an argument and walked away. All I could here was their susurrations coming from a distance. I decided that I had enough of building huts for a day and had an impulse to go on a little hike by myself. I started walking and wasn’t really watching were I was going. I loved listening to the sounds of birds chirping and seeing the streaks of sunlight that found their way through the thick leaves of the trees. It almost looked as though light was shining down from the heavens above to the floors that I walk on, like they were guiding my way. I was rapt with all of the beautiful sights not even thinking about how I was going to find my way back. As I walked in noticed the tiny details like dew drops on the leaves that were still there from morning because there was no light to absorb them, and all of the little bugs ranging from colors bright yellow to dark purple. Also, I could hear the clattering of pebbles as I stepped on them. They sounded like little castanets. Finally, I stepped in to an opening that was completely full of sunlight. It was quite hot too. I saw some flower buds hiding in the shadows of leaves, so I moved the leaves so the flowers could grow. It was like magic. When the sun hit them they started to blossom and open up. It was amazing! What a relaxing place it was too. A place for me to escape the business of everyone else. My secret place.

I liked how you showed the feelings that Simon had about the huts not getting built. I also liked ho you showed what Simon thought of Jacks absesion over hunting the pigs. I like how in the ending you gave the place that Simon saw a name.
I liked how you described how Simon felt when no one else was helping but Ralph and him. I like how you added in this that were not in the book, but it still made sense to what the book was saying. I would do the same thing as Simon, when he wanted to take a walk by his self so that he can think and take a break from building huts.

I like how you well... Simon was thinking about the group and wondering where they were supposed to sleep. I like how you also described Simon's feeling and thoughts when he was alone in his secret place :] I like the fact that you included Simon having "alone time" without the rest of the boys.
I like how you described Simon's feelings pretty well. I also like how you described Simon's hike very well. It helped me understand that part of the chapter better.
