Time for Fire
We were stuck on an island. It was final, and now we just had to tell everyone else. I wonder how they will feel about this. How do I feel? I guess it is OK. The only thing I am worried about is having to stay here for the rest of my life.
Ralph is starting to tell everyone now. Time to listen. They seem calm. Even the little ones. “...We are in an uninhabited island with no other people on it.” said Ralph.
“All the same you need an army-for hunting. Hunting pigs-” That was my job. I was in charge of my choir and they were in charge of hunting. The crowd became very errant and Ralph became annoyed. So did I. I took out my knife and slammed it in to the trunk of a tree. The crowd fell silent and everyone was looking at me.

Ralph mentioned that we should make a fire to tell people that we are here if we see a boat, and as soon as he said that everyone went rushing up to the top of the mountain. The little kids were capering as they ran along. I turned to look for Ralph, but he and Piggy were nowhere to be found. I guess they got left behind. When we reached the top everyone look very officious. A second later Ralph and Piggy came trudging up the mountain. It looked as though Ralph had induced Piggy to carry the heavy conch up the mountain. Then, one by one everyone started getting wood and placing it in the form to make a bonfire, but we had a problem. How were we going to light it? Hmm….I’ve got it! Piggy’s speck’s will light it. So, I pinched them off of his face. Once the fire was started we had another problem. It was out of control, and now piggy thinks one of the boys died!
