Significance:
I thought this quote was funny because out of all of the accomplishments in Firoozeh’s father’s life he chose that being the family swim instructor was his proudest accomplishment. This seemed strange to me because he has done things like be the first in his family to study in America, and many more. I guess it just depends on what you think is important.
Character Judgment:
I think that this shows that Firoozeh’s father is a very simple and easily amazed person. That is not a bad thing, it just means that sometimes even the smallest things can seem so amazing and interesting, or even make you extremely proud.

Significance:
I found this quote strange but important. It shows that all of the time Firoozeh and her family have spent in America gave them strange qualities. For example ham cravings. People in Abadan may think that is strange because it is not a food they usually eat there, and that is all that Firoozeh’s father wanted.
Personnel Connection:
I can relate to this quote because when I travel to a different country or place I learn to adjust to their food, and I actually like it. Then, when I come home that is all I want to eat and we will not have it. It can be disappointing.

[answer 1]Question: There are many things that I have accomplished but I think that my proudest accomplishment is that when I learned how to ride a clutch motorcycle and a manual vehicle.
