I am a Fresh and New Me!

They said that they saw the beastie, but I still was not convinced. Like Simon said, it could all just be in our heads. I mean, it was dark out when they saw it right? So maybe they saw a shadow or a swaying tree branch. Oh well. Jack was really starting to get on my nerves now. When I was talking to Ralph about this so called beastie, jack yelled at me and told me to go find out myself. Well, who cares about him! In a way Jack did look sort of demoniac.
Ralph and Jack got in to a fight and jack took off and called a meeting. That didn’t go to well. Apparently jack did not agree with Ralph being chief because he thought that he didn’t know what he was talking about and he was a coward. He said how he was not a hunter, and he could never get meat. He said he wasn’t a prefect. Then, jack held a vote for who wanted to make him chief, and that was horrible for him because no one raised their hand. If I were Ralph I wouldn’t hunt either because I would not want to paunch anything, alive or dead. Then, Jack said that he was going to start his own group and whoever wanted to join could. The he marched away into the forest. Everyone else was silent, but I was ecstatic! Jack being gone was the best thing that could have happened for me. Suddenly I had a strange burst of confidence, so I took the conch and started speaking my mind. We decided that we were going to move on without jack.
Later, after we had gathered wood to start a new fire, we heard a strange noise and a couple of boys jumped out of the forest. It was jack and some other hunters. They were covered in paint and said that they were having a feast, and anyone who wanted to join could. Then they stole part of our fire and took off. I could sense that jack was becoming a form of a taboo. At least I was demure and I didn’t try to be the center of attention everyday all day. Good Riddance!
